As a Platform Engineer at Kohl’s we apply software engineering principles to common infrastructure systems with the goal of making these systems as robust and as easy to use as possible for our development teams across Kohl’s. Whether it’s building and managing Kubernetes operators, APIs, infrastructure-as-code, or developer tools, we build platforms that enable our development teams across Kohl’s to move fast and deliver business value. We crush our work as a team with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers while grounding ourselves with data and feedback. We relentlessly code, test, deploy, operate, and improve our platforms until they achieve our desired outcomes and are a pleasure to use.
+ Engineering, extending, and supporting network integration into Kohls clouds to enable our development teams to move their applications to production quickly and efficiently
+ Being a developer advocate and influencer for the platform
+ Practicing and advocating for infrastructure engineering best practices like GitOps and overall infrastructure-as-code driving code quality and overall reliability
+ Strong knowledge of Route/Switch troubleshooting capability with an emphasis on BGP and EIGRP
+ Experience with networking as it relates to the Google Cloud and/or Amazon Web Services platforms (VPC, Shared VPC, Cloud Router, Network Firewall, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect Gateway…)
+ Knowledge of Public Cloud Peering providers (Equinix, Megaport…)
+ Knowledge of Next Generation firewalls, preferably Cisco
+ Knowledge of Python, Golang, Ansible, and Kubernetes
+ Knowledge building development practices like CI/CD, Test Automation, Test Driven Development and cloud deployments
+ 3+ years of relevant work experience
+ BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
